Bokeh – The etymology of this word is supposed to be from Japanese – meaning Blur. I recently joined photography forum who have weekly challenges/assignments (www.digital-photography-schoo.com). This week’s assignment was Bokeh. I had tried a few snaps and finally settled down on the following as the final submission

San Francisco capture in pictures. San francisco, California is considered a photographers paradise by many who live in the San Francisco Bay area. Being a resident of this area, I have done my part of trying to capture this beautiful city with my camera. Even though I cannot do enough justice of portraying its beauty, I have tried to present some of the sights in San Francisco. Wherever possible, I have tried to add some blurb about these different places in San Francisco with help from wikipedia.org

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the “golden gate”, the opening of the San Francisco Bay onto the Pacific Ocean

San Francisco China Town Entrance 

 Alamo Square “Six Sisters” (or) “postcard row” (or) “Painted Ladies”. Present at the intersection of Hayes and Steiner Streets.

Alcatraz Island – also called as “The Rock”,  this is a small island located in the middle of San Francisco Bay. It served as a lighthouse, then a military fortification, then a military prison followed by a federal prison until 1963.

Lombard Street – Considered as the crookedest street in the world, this street is full of hair pin bends lined by houses and filled with a nice garden along the way. This view of lombard street has been taken from Coit Tower

Coit Tower - This was built on top of telegraphy hill area of San Francisco in 1933 at the bequest of Lillie Hitchcock Coit to beautify the City of San Francisco

A pair of moaning doves made our backyard their home. They build their nest over the lamp and carefully tended their egg and here is their prize. Look at the peeping Tom peeping out of its nest while the mom watches over.
